When baby #2 comes along you think you are all prepared because you’ve been there, done that, and have all of the baby gear that you’ll need from your first child. Except parenting a toddler is completely different than the baby you’ve just practiced with for 2 years. Along comes a picky, temperamental tiny human who talks back, touches everything with sticky hands, and changes their mind every few seconds. Just when you thought you had gotten a handle on parenting, new ages and stages take over.
You also might find that the same baby gear you had used for #1 won’t accommodate having two small children. With my kids being 21 months apart there were plenty of times we were out for the day and a single stroller wasn’t cutting it between a baby and a toddler. I always keep a ring sling baby carrier in my diaper bag but on these very hot summer days none of us want to babywear for very long because we just get too sweaty.
Enter the Evenflo Sibby Travel System which is the perfect stroller combination for parents with a toddler and a baby. The Sibby Travel System has the comfort and design of a single stroller but features a bonus Ride-Along Board that is perfect for fickle toddlers who can’t decide if they want to walk or ride. Double strollers can sometimes be too bulky to fit in to trunks of cars or through doorways. The Sibby is the same size as a single stroller so it can easily maneuver wherever you have to go but ensure that you can have both kids in tow. Plus you won’t need to lift your toddler in and out of the seat 100 times while they decide their preferred method of travel.
The Sibby is very lightweight and easily collapses. It features a large under storage compartment that easily fits my very large diaper bag (Confession: I’m an over-packer!). There is also a cup holder near the cushioned handles, reclining seat, and smooth turning wheels which allow for one-handed steering (because let’s face it, you learn to do a lot of things one-handed as a mom).
The Ride-Along board, called the “scooter” by my toddler, conveniently attaches up off the ground by a little strap so it doesn’t need to drag along when not in use. It can also be quickly removed if you know you won’t be using it. One feature I really like is that you do not need to fumble with removing the Ride-Along Board before collapsing the stroller. Just pull up on the tab to collapse the stroller as normal and leave the “scooter” in place for the next ride.
The overall design is modern and the fabric easily wipes clean (my son put it to the test with a spit-up incident). The sun canopy is large and does a great job at shielding my infant from having the sun directly in his face. There are a variety of color options available including Slate Blue, Mineral Grey, Raspberry & Charcoal (pictured here).
As this is a Travel System there is also an infant car seat included. The base easily installs and the actual car seat clicks in securely. My son seems quite comfortable in the seat and he likes that he can see me when the car seat is clicked on to the stroller.
I really think the Evenflo Sibby Travel System is a great buy at just $189.99 for the Ride Along Stroller option and infant car seat combo. It is available at my favorite store, Target, and features 4 fashionable colors for the modern mama.
